Behind "Baby Step" - Kornél Kovács' bass-driven, vocal-laced spooky house jam found on the first release of his own Studio Barnhus label - lies a lifetime of dedication to dance music, club culture and straight up hustling. Kornél was born in Sweden to Hungarian parents, grew up listening to his folks' old Kraftwerk bootleg cassettes, fell in love with jungle at the age of 10 and started djing in Stockholm clubs three years later. After a while he got pretty bored with that stuff, becoming the youngest ever former jungle dj in Scandinavia by the age of 14. During high school he discovered drugs and mp3s and promptly started djing again, landing a residency at local hotspot Paradise in 2005. Rumours of a 20-year old dj brutally mixing new techno with old house and cheap rave classics soon started spreading. After Paradise closed shop in 2006, Kornél started throwing his own parties in his hometown and began playing at clubs and festivals all around Sweden as well as in Tokyo, Mexico City, London, Barcelona, Berlin and a bunch of other really cool places. He also started hosting the legendary P3 Dans show on Swedish national radio, partook in the 2008 Red Bull Music Academy and played a smashing peak time set for a packed Sonar By Day stage in 2009. Then came his crown achievement in life: Starting up the record label / dj trio / insane clown posse Studio Barnhus together with Petter Nordkvist and Axel Boman. "Baby Step" was on the first Barnhus release and "Down Since '92" (a bass-laced, vocal-driven hooky spouse jam) is on the sixth which is out in October 2011. More hot music is coming as soon as he buys a sound card. Kornél's music is played by dance aficionados as diverse as Michael Mayer, A Made Up Sound, Ewan Pearson, Matt John and John Talabot, his dj skillz are godlike and he's quite cheap to book so let's go.
